Go get a loan for your business. Are you kidding me?
Tuesday, March 24th, 2009Since I am back into the blogging business I also try to find interesting articles to read and (believe it or not) it’s pretty hard. Everyone and his cat has an Entrecard / Twitter / Digg / Adsense etc. blog to teach you how to get maximum profit / visits / clicks or debate how to make money online in blogs that don’t earn 2 bucks a month. Yeah, I am mean right now since I’m tired of reading about “millionairs” and “get rich yesterday” gurus.
Still .. we’re not talking about the low quality of information or the fact it takes 10 spam blogs to find a good one, but we’re gonna chat a bit about the advice I read in one of the few decent ones I laid eyes on these days: don’t stay on a small budget or “tight money”, but go there and find a good loan for your business.
Paying for hosting: ways to waste money
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009One of the first things we need to take into account when creating a site is the server it will stay on. Chosing the perfect solution is pretty hard and there are many ways one can lose money out of this deal.
1. You get the biggest plan possible.
I had many clients who were “shocked” to hear I won’t host their small presentation site on a dedicated server. It took me minutes to convince them it’s better to start small since I can always increase resources and they’d pay more when they’d actually need to. Yes, I am that kind of a web hosting provider. I don’t want them to jump on the biggest plan since all they’ll do is waste money on something they don’t need.
New unique layout for our blog
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009RamonaIftode.com has got a new unique layout, made from zero. A design in Photoshop, sliced and put together. The theme is called “dojo” and it’s my first Wordpress design made from zero and not having the default skin modified. My previews works were looking like this: 24funblog.ro, lifetm.info, lafeminin.info (these are modifications of the default or classic style).
I wasn’t able to see how it looks in Internet Explorer since mine thought it would be nice to mess with me and stop working, the page buttons in the header are to be “mended”, they aren’t all working.
Should you see problems, please let me know. I am sure there are possible errors and you’d be of great help in this matter.
Thank you and welcome to the newly redesigned blog
If you are a lousy employee what makes you think you’ll be a good business man?
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009It’s time for me to step on some more sensitive toes in a topic we all love to discuss: running your own business.
Every “self-help” or “business” site tells us that the “man” we’re working for is the devil, “9 to 5″ is for losers and there’s nothing more exciting than being your own boss. Many of our parents were pleased to just have a nice job and just ignored all the drama, many of us want “more” from our lives and expect to do well.
One of the things some employees day dream is their own business, with their own employees they can “abuse”, just like their boss is doing to them. Some do have all it takes for success, while others just run from a bad working environment and want to have their own “toy” to play with.
OK, it’s recession. Do we sit on our butts now?
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009For many months all I hear on the radio and see on the TV is about the economical issues all countries have. It’s crisis, recession, you name it. People lose jobs, many get scared and get into a “letargic” state. I have many friends who are almost “paralized” by the fear of becoming unemployed. Many firms close doors and business owners try to get a “day to day” job. And still .. there are business owners who make it and people who still keep a well paid job.
