Here is a small how to article about a nice way to promote a blog. It won’t do wonders to your traffic, but it will surely start up the traffic and subscriptions, if you also have a nice content.

1. first of all you need some content up. No one will bother stay too much on your blog, unless you have something to tell them. I won’t go into deep details about how important unique content is, I assume you’re not copying content, but creating your own articles.

2. register to MyBlogLog.com .. you register a free account and start editing it. In your profile write a detailed presentation. Nothing too spammy because people are sick of self-promotional information already. Something nice and interesting about you.

3. make sure you’re always logged in when you start surfing. When you surf another blog that has the MyBlogLog widget, your avatar will appear and people are likely to check you out. Sure, a nice avatar might make the difference.

4. start browsing some blogs, from the search in mybloglog site or other projects you like and want to read them again. As you enter the blogs, your face shows in the widget.

5. time for some MyBlogLog comments. Do yourself a favour and comment ONLY with interesting stuff. Don’t come say “nice visiting your blog, come check my blog at http://www.wtricks.com/webmaster-blog .. you’re gonna be a spammer and your comment will be deleted. You’re not there to make a fool of yourself, but to actually post something intelligent and gain a link to your blog.

If you read something interesting in that blog (yeah, I know .. takes more work than to just pus a spam comment), say something about the thread. Or comment on the theme design or features. Make it positive, even if you also give some tips for improvement. If that blog is that uninteresting and you cannot say something nice about it, don’t bother. There’s too much junk to lose time with it. I comment ONLY on good projects and still there are many you can comment on.

6. add some contacts. Last time I checked you could ad 15 contacts a day .. try to add some people as contacts (those nice blogs you really like). This will make them add you too, if they also like your blog.

7. join some nice communities. Not just the biggest ones, some smaller ones you really like. This way your “nose” will be seen quite a lot.

Before you jump to all the jazz in here, please remember that QUALITY content will make your blog visited and successful. If you’re another “copy-paste” blog, you can spend 24 hours a day on MyBlogLog and you’ll be ignored by those who came and were disappointed in the junk you have as content. 1 excellent article can make the breakthrough .. people will link to you and respect you. Then they’ll come back for some more.

Use MyBlogLog as a respectful and serious member and you’ll get some nice traffic and people to have you favourite. An excellent content with this small boost will surely work
