  • Let’s see how fast do Google react …

I have just found 4 of my articles stolen by some guy named hazem mohammed zanaty from Blogger.com

Have filled all the report information and now I am waiting to see what Google (they own blogger, don’t they?) does about this. All the 4 posts in the guy’s blog are mine. Am curious to see if Google actually does anything or I have to be even nastier.

I just hate losers like this. If you’re stupid enough to not be able to fill that junk blog you got there with your content, do something else with your life. Don’t steal my work!

    1. Yep, there will always be these splog type blogs, I can’t see the link though as its only linking back to this post. I’d want to see it first hand, never had my work stolen by selfish people before.

    2. Hello,

      Good Luck

However I doubt they will do anything. Using someone elses content is not ilegal unless they remove links or make it look like their own…. I cannot comment but I think you are in for a long wait

    3. Sorry to hear that this happened to you. People are always stealing content. A good tool I would recommend you use for your postings to check if whether or not they have been copied is http://www.copyscape.com/

Well, let’s say that some days passed and NOTHING was done. NOTHING! I didn’t get a response to my report, the blog is still there alive and kicking. Looks like you can post stolen content on blogger.com and get away with it.

    5. Google should do something a bout it , On my part it’s the pictures I posts that were stolen , copyscape and other copyright protection are advised though it is always another expenses on our part , Keep knocking on google it is their duty to protect our rights as blogger

    6. Well Ramona there are lots of blogs who are running with the stolen or duplicate content…& some of them having a good PR & position on different search engines…so i think you can do any thing on blogging site & don’t punish.

That’s just stupid of them, if someone did this to me I’d hit the roof in a heart beat and complain just about everywhere for them doing nothing!

    8. I was wondering how you were able to track this guy. I just hope Google would do something about this. It’s depressing and frustrating knowing your blog contents had been stolen and nothing had been taken into action. Give it sometime and keep on sending them your report. Good luck.

Thank you all for the comments. IT WAS SOLVED.

Complained in the blogger forums and a very nice person took it upon himself to lobby my problem. The blog is no longer there. That’s a good thing.

    10. Good to know that! Let’s just hope no one will do the same thing again.

Did Google get back to you? I think it is so RUDE of people to steal others content. I hope they do not get away with it for long.. that sends the message that theft is OK?!

      +1

    13. I’m really shocked that anybody would steal your blog contents – it didn’t occur to me that some people would do this – that’s pathetic. I’m glad you got the problem fixed though – that’s good. It’s good to know you have some recourse.

Do what I do, which works great (I even have my client’s do it)

Each new post you have, print it out before you post it. Then seal it and send it to yourself. Now it will be post-stamped by the US Postal Service. This will act as a legal trademark because inside is your copy, and outside is the stamp from the US Postal Service. If somebody want’s to take your copy then go the legal route and let them know about the copyright and that you are ready to goto court.

On another note I find it strange that the reply’s in this post are people who are commenting just to get link juice. To me that is as bad as stealing someone’s work. Matt Cutts recently talked about using your REAL NAME and not your link text for leaving comments on blogs, and how the Google Bot will discredit it.

It’s a shame as much as stealing content.

    15. Sorry Rami to disappoint you!
Want a tip? Go to YouTube and search for OFFICIAL accounts of the stars that have videoclips there. Want more? I can give you more than that. The easiest way to get rid of counterfitters, is publishing them on a black-list.
Do this ob your blog on something like: Thieves, crooks, stealers, liars [...] …fill the blanks. Update it frequently. You may also use your forums. Think of the benefits for the others when offering them this kind of info, at hand.
Cheers, Dojo, see you on gofreelancing! ;)

    16. I’m glad it got sorted. One thing to be sure things like this don’t cause to much of a problem from and SEO point of view is to include some absolute links in the body, that way the offending site will be unintentionally linking back to your blog, and Google will know which was the original content.

Hey, just want to advice you that you can’t stop all this people from copying your content. So what you should do is to write like a note or something telling people, the dangers of stealing content. Maybe post a “fake” story of what happened to someone that you reported after he/she stole your content. You know..you have to use this tools to put off the fire.

    18. I’ve had this happen several times already by bigger sites that have literally stole my articles verbatim through scraping, and since they’re ranked higher in google they get the articles indexed first since they were indexed first… really crappy. Any idea how to prevent this?
